Sinsamut Klinmee believes the smaller gloves in the ONE Muay Thai division will work to his advantage over Regian Eersel

(Image courtesy of ONE) ONE Muay Thai powerhouse and divisional darkhorse is having perhaps one of the best freshman years in ever. 'Aquaman' debuted in the promotion at its biggest event yet, ONE X, and knocked out kickboxing icon Nieky Holzken inside two rounds. After knocking out a bonafide legend, the hard-hitting Thai only needed to sleep former WBC Muay Thai world champion Liam Nolan. With two devastating knockouts over formidable opponents, Klinmee is looking straight at gold. He will fight for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title at. It won't be an easy task, however, as 'Aquaman' will face 'The Immortal’ Regian Eersel. Eersel, who is the current ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion, will be looking to become a multi-sport titleholder by winning another world title in a second martial art. 'The Immortal' is one of the most dominant ONE Super Series world champions today, having successfully defended his throne four straight times. During ONE's virtual media day faceoff interview, Sinsamut Klinmee was asked if there would be an advantage on his side since they will be using 4oz gloves. Eersel, for most of his career, has been using the bigger 10oz gloves that are customary in kickboxing. Klinmee responded with: "This is my advantage, I like the small gloves. I think my punches are hard, and if he feels that, if he gets a punch it wouldn’t be very well for him" Not only do the smaller 4oz gloves allow for more impact, they also force fighters to punch differently. The angle of the punches significantly changes when the smaller, fingerless gloves replace the bigger, padded gloves. Look to see how Eersel adjusts to this come fight night. Sinsamut Klinmee looks up to his big brother for inspiration

Every successful athlete has that special person in their life that inspires them to achieve the impossible. For Sinsamut Klinmee, the reason behind his tremendous success in Muay Thai is his big brother, Sudsakorn Klinmee. Sudsakorn is one of Thailand’s most successful and recognized Muay Thai and kickboxing world champions, amassing an insane record of 294-56. He is a former WMC S1 world champion and a Lion Fight middleweight champion. Sudsakorn saw the potential in his brother at an early age and never gave up on him through thick and thin. On his brother's influence on his life and career, Sinsamut Klinmee told ONE Championship: “Of course, my brother has always been my greatest inspiration. He always supports me and tries to find a matchup for me. He’s the reason I still fight today. Many friends of mine who started at the same time as me have already quit, but I haven’t quit because my brother always encourages me to go forward."
