Cormier commented on the upcoming fight, claiming that Petr Yan's tendency to start slowly in his fights could land him in trouble against Sean O'Malley. The UFC commentator said: "One factor in this fight that Petr Yan really has to try to fix is he cannot start slow. He's traditionally a very slow starter. He cannot do that in this fight. He's got to go fast.
