Breaking Bo Nickal s debut at UFC 282 in December scrapped due to injury

Bo Nickal (Image credit: Getty Images) Following his impressive outstanding performance on Dana White's Contender Series, was signed to a contract and matched up against Jamie Pickett for his promotional debut, but that has now been scrapped due to injury. After earning a first-round submission against then-undefeated Zachary Borrego, the NCAA Division I wrestler was given further exposure on Dana White's popular series. While many believed he should have been given a contract initially, the rising star made sure there was no doubt with a second dominant outing. As reported by earlier today, Bo Nickal will not be making his debut for the company in 2022, with the UFC rumored to be looking ahead to UFC 285 for the generational talent's first octagon appearance. UFC 285 could become one of the biggest pay-per-views in recent history, rumored to be headlined by newly crowned welterweight king Leon Edwards in the trilogy clash against Kamaru Usman. Although nothing is official as of yet, it seems Khamzat Chimaev vs. Colby Covington is also being targeted for the card.

The fight that earned Bo Nickal a UFC contract

After failing to capture a UFC contract after submitting his opponent a minute into the opening round, was forced to showcase his skills at the Apex once again. The 26-year-old displayed his striking skills, knocking down the experienced Donovan Beard with a big overhand right just seconds into the first round. He followed the punch up with some high-level grappling, highlighting that he is not only an elite wrestler and solid boxer, but he can setup and lock in submissions when the fight hits the ground.
