[Photos ONE Championship] Regian Eersel continued his perfect run in ONE Championship when he beat Sinsamut Klinmee via a split decision for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title at . Eersel, who already owns the ONE lightweight kickboxing world championship, became a two-sport world champion this Friday at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur. During his post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson, said: “First of all I wanna thank my team, without them Sityodtong Amsterdam I wouldn’t be here. Second I wanna thank ONE Championship, Kuala Lumpur I love you guys! Thank you I really enjoyed my time here. The historic win marked Eersel’s eighth victory in as many matches in ONE Championship, thus making him one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the promotion. Eersel also joined an exclusive list of two-sport world champions in the promotion that includes Stamp Fairtex, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, and Janet Todd. “I feel great man, I feel very great, I can’t describe this feeling. I’ve written history right now. I’m the first Dutch-Surinamese that did it. You can call me champ-champ now, champ-champ.”

In the same interview with Chilson, ‘The Immortal’ said that he’s going to jump between sports and defend both the ONE lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world titles. “I did Muay Thai before, and I like to challenge myself. Life is a challenge, you have to challenge yourself, otherwise, you don’t live. This is a challenge, and it’s still a challenge and I enjoy it.
