The Brazilian star was arguably on the cusp of winning the ONE bantamweight world title, but the main event of was ruled a no-contest when Lineker couldn’t continue after receiving an inadvertent knee to the groin. Lineker’s manager Alex Davis even shared on Instagram just how shattered the cup ‘Hands of Stone’ wore following the strike. Nevertheless, Andrade did not spare his words when describing how Lineker allegedly ran away from the bout. Fabricio Andrade posted a video, which the MMA Super-Fan shared on YouTube, wherein he said that the inadvertent groin shot wasn’t enough to put the match to an end. Andrade said: “Honestly, I don’t think it was enough to make him stop the fight. But he knew that in the third round, I just dropped him with a body knee, and he took the easy way out.” The world title match between Andrade and Lineker was at a fever pitch right from the opening bell, with both fighters launching bombs at each other. Lineker found a way to land some heavy punches down Andrade’s guard in the second round but ‘Wonder Boy’ quickly recovered and had his fellow Brazilian star on the back foot near the end of the round. Things got worse for Lineker in the third round as Andrade continued to pile on the pressure. The fight, though, just had an unfortunate end following an illegal groin strike.
