Robert Griffin Alexander, age 49, was arrested earlier this month on felony charges of sexual contact, indecency with a child, and aggravated sexual assault on a child, per . Alexander's profile on the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) shows that he is an aerospace engineer who started MMA officiating in 2022 with a certification through John McCarthy's COMMAND course. He is licensed to officiate MMA events in Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee. Alexander has worked as a judge for three UFC pay-per-views in the past. Alexander was a judge at three UFC pay-per-view events in Houston: UFC 271, UFC 265 and UFC 247.

Documents obtained by MMA Junkie from the 10th District Court of Galveston County revealed that a Galveston County Sheriff arrested Alexander at 2:30 p.m. on October 14 and booked him into the County Jail. Bond was initially set at $40,000 for each offense and a hearing is currently scheduled for November 29. The first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault occurred in January 2000, and the alleged victim was younger than 14 years of age. The second-degree felony charge of sexual contact indecency took place around January 2010. The minor in this case was under 17 years of age.
