Paired with his lightweight kickboxing crown, ‘The Immortal’ is just the fourth fighter in ONE history to carry two titles in two separate sports simultaneously, though it didn’t come without some adversity. Eersel narrowly escaped with the Muay Thai title on Friday night, scoring a closely contested split decision victory. Discussing the decision at the post-fight press conference, ‘The Immortal’ suggested that the split decision was a direct result of Klinmee being on his “home turf.” “It's a little bit annoying, but it's okay. You know, it's Muay Thai and a fight against a Thai fighter, and I fought in Asia so, it's his home turf. But it's okay, I got the win, that's the most important thing, and I think I showed the world what I'm capable of.” As the holder of two world titles, Regian Eersel has every intention of staying active, suggesting in his post-fight interview that fans could see him back inside the circle as early as December. "I think I have a little bit of injury on my knuckle. But I will see how that goes. And maybe you'll see me in December."

Regian Eersel hopes to enter legendary status within the next 5-10 years

Regian Eersel continued his epic run in ONE Championship, extending his undefeated run to 8-0 while capturing his second ONE world championship. Stretching back to before his ONE debut in 2018, ‘The Immortal’ has amassed an incredible 20-fight unbeaten run, a feat that could already qualify him for legendary status. However, Eersel believes another five to 10 years of dominance may be needed to achieve that level of greatness: "Five or 10 years from now, I hope the people will see me as a living legend by then. Because of what I’ve accomplished. I hope I will put on very great fights for the fans.” Eersel continued, saying: “When they see me, I want them to say, 'Oh man, that’s a very good fighter. Did you watch his fight against this guy and his fight against that guy? He’s legendary.’ I want to be remembered like that."
