He sold us all wolf tickets – Disappointed Anthony Smith calls T J Dillashaw taking on Aljamain Sterling with a shoulder injury a money grab

Anthony Smith (left) and T.J. Dillashaw vs Aljamain Sterling (right) believes did MMA fans a disservice by moving forward with his fight against despite a lingering shoulder injury. On the latest episode of the Believe You Me podcast, 'Lionheart' stated that he was disappointed by Dillashaw's actions: "I'm a little bit disappointed just in T.J. Dillashaw as a person. He sold us all wolf tickets and had us all super excited...You can't lie to yourself. So, him saying, 'I didn't know when this [a title shot] was gonna come back around,' it sounded like a money grab, to be 100 percent honest with you." Smith added: "If his shoulder went out that easy on that takedown, and it went out 20 times during training camp, there's no way you were gonna beat Aljamain Sterling." You can watch the full episode of the podcast below: Dillashaw and Sterling competed for the bantamweight title in the co-main event of UFC 280. 'Killashaw' suffered a shoulder injury in the opening round of the fight which clearly compromised his fighting ability. Sterling overwhelmed the 36-year-old with his grappling skills and scored a TKO victory in the second round. In his post-fight interview, Dillashaw revealed that the shoulder injury had existed for quite some time and that his shoulder had popped out multiple times during training. Michael Bisping comments on T J Dillashaw s motivation for fighting Aljamain Sterling

Unlike Anthony Smith, Michael Bisping does not believe T.J. Dillashaw's decision to go ahead with his fight against Aljamain Sterling despite being injured was motivated by money. According to 'The Count', arrogance might have played a part in Dillashaw's decision-making. Bisping discussed the same during a recent Q&A session on YouTube: "Do I think that T.J. Dillashaw is desperate for money if he's willing to walk into the cage injured? The short answer is no. I don't think he went in there hurting for money, no doubt three years away from the sport with only one fight, yeah you want to get going and be active. Fighters are like that, we have confidence and think we can still win...I just think maybe his confidence/arrogance...got the better of him. He still thought he could get the job done."
