3 Players Green Bay Packers should pursue to help Aaron Rodgers offense before deadline

New England Patriots v Green Bay Packers and the have struggled to replace wide receiver . The 29-year-old swapped Green Bay for Las Vegas; now his former team is reeling at 3-4. Part of the problem is the receiving group at Rodgers' disposal. Having to rely on rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, along with veteran receivers Sammy Watkins and , the production simply hasn't been there. Thankfully, help could be on the way. With the November 1 trade deadline fast approaching, the Packers could get some support for the reigning NFL MVP. But who? Here are three options for Green Bay to pursue for Rodgers.

#3 - DJ Moore

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Carolina Panthers The Carolina Panthers are having a fire sale without actually having a fire sale. Christian McCaffrey's trade was evident. If the Packers think they are still contenders, trading for Moore is good business. Expensive, but good business. If the Green Bay Packers want to be serious contenders, they need to trade for Panthers’ WR DJ Moore. If the Green Bay Packers want to be serious contenders, they need to trade for Panthers’ WR DJ Moore. The 25-year-old receiver has had an up-and-down season with the Panthers, and many feel that if a good enough offer comes in, Carolina will listen despite signing a new deal back in March.

#2 - Brandin Cooks

Houston Texans v Chicago Bears Another veteran, Cooks, could be the perfect fit for the Packers offense. Throughout his career, he has shown to slot into different offenses with ease, and his knowledge of the route tree could make him a valuable addition. Packers would have ZERO issue fitting either Brandin Cooks or DJ Moore under their 2022 salary cap

The cap obstacles to the trades are:
Cooks $18.5M; Moore $20.2M in 2023 guaranteed cash & cap Packers would acquire
Cooks $16.2M; Moore $14.6M in 2023 dead cap left behindPackers would have ZERO issue fitting either Brandin Cooks or DJ Moore under their 2022 salary capThe cap obstacles to the trades are: Cooks $18.5M; Moore $20.2M in 2023 guaranteed cash & cap Packers would acquire Cooks $16.2M; Moore $14.6M in 2023 dead cap left behind Now to mention, he still has his blazing speed. This is something that Green Bay's current crop of receivers lacks. If Green Bay wants to end its 3-4 slump, Cooks could be the one to help.

#1- Odell Beckham Jr

Super Bowl LVI - Los Angeles Rams v Cincinnati Bengals This is one name that keeps popping up to add to Rodgers' offense. Many see free agent as the perfect player for the Packers offense. The two ACL injuries for the 29-year-old might put some teams off, but we saw last season that he is still a brilliant player once he got going. Had it not been for his injury in the Super Bowl, Beckham Jr. would have two hands on the Super Bowl MVP trophy. Pairing him with Rodgers would yield some serious returns. He is a star, has blazing speed, and understands complex systems. It's a superb fit. Poll : 0 votes Quick Links More from Sportskeeda Thank You!
