There has been a rise in cases of climate change activists attempting to destroy famous pieces of art as a way to protest against climate change. In a recent incident, two protesters reportedly poured tomato soup across one of Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflower paintings, and immediately glued their hands to the wall. Another case reported a girl gluing her head to Johannes Vermeer's famous painting Girl With a Pearl Earring. These protesters have justified their actions by arguing that people are more concerned about paintings than about the raging issue of environmental degradation that is on the rise. In a recent edition of the podcast, host Joe Rogan, along with American writer and comedian Bridget Phetasy, discussed the ongoing acts of painting vandalism by protesters. Rogan spoke against the radical actions of the activists and attributed the incidents as a "symbol of this TikTok generation." According to the podcaster, the protestors are attempting to gain attention by exerting the bare minimum of effort. Putting forth his opinion on the incident, the podcast host said: "They should start hacking arms off. That would stop that...It's so f**king dumb...It's a symbol of this TikTok generation. It's a symptom of all this nonsense you are seeing constantly online. These people, they are trying to get attention with the least amount of work possible."
