The Grenade Launcher in GTA 5 is based on the real-life Milkor MGL. However, instead of an adjustable scope on the MGL, the Grenade launcher in GTA V comes with a Picatinny rail. The Picatinny rail can be used to fit attachments like the scope, grip and flashlight. It is fitted with a Magpul MOE carbine collapsible stock. It is the only heavy that can be fitted with so many attachments.

The Grenade Launcher can be very useful in certain situations. It uses 40mm grenades. This weapon launches the grenade by auto adjustment of its path according to where the player places their crosshair and the grenade falls exactly where the crosshair was placed. Due to this, the player does not have to calculate its trajectory while shooting. This helps take out helicopters easily, especially those flying at low altitudes. It is very accurate and is the best option to take out vehicles, as it has an ammo capacity of 10 grenades which is unreal. 10 grenades can be fired one after the other before reloading. Grenades do not bounce on the ground, which reduces the chance of missing the target, however, they may bounce on walls.

Available for purchase at Ammu-Nation, for $8,100. At the end of a catwalk inside Franklin's hangar at Los Santos International Airport. Given to Trevor in the mission Trevor Philips Industries. Found underwater inside the huge cove, halfway between Palmer-Taylor Power Station and Davis Quartz, east of RON Alternates Wind Farm near the Jetmax. On top of the NW arch of the San Andreas Avenue bridge.
When reloading, the player only takes a few seconds to drop a used round and a single round is only loaded into the weapon. In The Ballad of Gay Tony, when gun butting a cop or player with this weapon, a unique tube-like "bloop" sound effect will play, as compared to the generic whack noise other weapons use. In GTA Online, For unknown reasons, the player will lose 10 grenades when dying due to a glitch.
