PRESENTED BY COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland has signed Georgia Tech transfer Robert Carter Jr. Carter averaged 11 points and seven rebounds in two seasons with the Yellow Jackets. The 6-foot-8, 247-pound Carter will enroll at Maryland this summer and be eligible for the 2015-16 season as a junior. Terrapins head coach Mark Turgeon describes Carter as ''a complete player with a strong offensive skillset.'' As a sophomore last season, Carter averaged 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds despite missing 10 games with a knee injury. Previously this offseason, the Terps had five players transfer from the program, including forward Charles Mitchell and guards Seth Allen and Nick Faust.
