PRESENTED BY KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Sophomore Lexi Overstreet powered the No. 10 seed Lady Vols (45-10) to a 2-0 victory against Lipscomb (41-15) on Saturday afternoon in the Knoxville Regional. UT advances to the NCAA super regionals for the seventh time in program history and third consecutive season. After five scoreless innings, sophomore Haley Tobler led off with a hit to left center to snag a single. Overstreet followed up with a two-run homer, putting UT on the board. It marked Overstreet's eighth home run this season. Senior Ellen Renfroe (29-6) earned the win, allowing only three hits, while striking out 10 Lipscomb batters in 7.0 innings pitched. It marked her 11th shutout this year. Ashley Anderson (20-8) takes the loss for the Bison, allowing five hits, two earned runs and retiring nine UT batters in 7.0 innings pitched. Senior Melissa Davin went 2-for-3 on the day, and Overstreet along with senior Madison Shipman finished 1-for-3. The Lady Vols head to Norman, Oklahoma, for the NCAA super regionals.
