The life of Kurenai Yuhi
Kurenai met Asuma Sarutobi during the Academy's entrance ceremony and instantly became really good friends. She graduated at the age of 9 and was put in a team along with Asuma Sarutobi and Raido Namishi. She became a chunin at the age of 13 and became a jonin just shortly before Team 7 was formed. br During the Nine-Tails attack, Kurenai, Kakashi, Asuma, and Guy were among the young ninjas who wanted to aid in repelling the beast but they were not allowed to do so by the older shinobi, one of whom was in fact Kurenai's father. br She protested this but her father told her that it was not war but an internal village issue. He also told her that as shinobis their lives were brief and that she should live a long life in order to make sure that the next generation inherits the Will of Fire. br br Kurenai had a natural talent for and because of this, the Third Hokage had asked Kurenai to train Yakumo Kurama, who was another talented genjutsu user who wanted to be a ninja. This was because Yakumo couldn't control her illusions which put all the people around her in danger. br Due to this Kurenai had to seal Yakumo's abilities away to prevent her from becoming a shinobi. Twelve years after the Nine-Tails attack and seeing Kakashi fall into a deep depression after the death of Rin Nohara and , Kurenai, Asuma, and Guy decided to talk to the Third Hokage. Together they told him that Kakashi should not be a part of the Anbu as it was because Kakashi had become bitter and they said that he should be reassigned as a jounin teacher in the hopes that Kakashi's kindness would be restored. br Kurenai then visited the Hyuga estate and took Hinata under her. She asked her father Hiashi Hyuga whether he was sure that he wanted Hinata to join the regular shinobi forces. He replied by saying that he dismissed Hinata as the Hyūga clan had no place for the weak. br A few missions later, Kurenai, alongside her team, teamed up with Kakashi to locate Orochimaru's hideout. They managed to locate one but it was already deserted and abandoned. Another mission that Kurenai’s Team was the eight-man squad made by Kakashi also included Team Kurenai but they were stalled by Tobi and thus failed to bring Sasuke back before his and Itachi's bodies were taken away. br

Kurenai is a very caring and brave woman who shows great compassion to her students and takes a keen interest in their growth. When Hinata offered Naruto Uzumaki medicine after his fight with Kiba, she convinced Naruto to take it as she knew about Hinata's crush on him. She is honest, simple and has an elder sister personality. br br Everyone in the series had a hint that Kurenai had a romantic relationship with Asuma. They appeared to be together in many scenes and the other characters also noticed this too on many occasions. When Kakashi found them together at the dumpling shop and asked if they were on a date, this made Kurenai blush and she made an excuse that she was just running an errand. br Even during Asuma's battle with Hidan and Kakuzu, Kurenai was quite on edge, wondering about Asuma's safety at all times. When she heard of his death, she was quite broken and went to lay some flowers on his grave. She became a single mother to Mirai and she proves to be a very capable woman to raise Mirai to be very cheerful and responsible. br

br Kurenai is very fair-skinned and slender in build with long black untamed hair which reached her upper back. She had quite unique red eyes which always made people think that she possessed the Sharingan, and she also wore purple eyeshadow and red lipstick. br Her usual outfit consisted of a red mesh armor blouse with only the right sleeve visible. The rest of her outfit resembled bandages wrapped around her with rose-thorn patterns on them. Her hands and upper thighs are also wrapped with bandages and she wears Konoha's forehead protector with the usual Ninja sandals. br During her pregnancy, she wore a long, loose-fitting dress and was seen in a simple kimono. As a kid, she wore a similar outfit to her original signature outfit with a simple sash around her waist. The thorns were pink in color and when she grew older she changed them to red. br After the Fourth Great Shinobi War, she wore a black- colored long-sleeved shirt with a burgundy sleeveless shirt with three red-orange stripes on it. She wears a light shade of grey pants with tan brown sandals. Her hair was shoulder length and at the moment, she wears a red kimono with a white belt. br
The abilities of Kurenai Yuhi
Kurenai is known as a genjutsu prodigy and is considered Konoha's number one genjutsu user. Her skills could rival those of Itachi, and he also praised her skills as well as she was capable of finding out the truth, sees through an illusion, and is able to lure enemies to a place far beyond genjutsu. She is also able to affect multiple enemies with her genjutsu. Most of her illusions techniques focus on flora like using large trees to capture opponents or using flower petals for various purposes. br br She is quite quick with her speed and is able to defend against Itachi's attack after just breaking out of her own genjutsu. She can also travel through surfaces and sense others by their chakra. Not only that, she can also seal away the person's kekkei Genkai and enter another person's subconscious and see their true nature. br
