During her feud with Suna, she was dispatched on a mission to foil ’s ambitions. She completed the assignment successfully and was acclaimed as a Hero by the village. She was later going on another journey to Kirigakure as an envoy, but was betrayed and killed by an ambush they arranged. Rasa and the seniors blamed Iwagakure for her death.
Pakura was reanimated by to battle against the Allied Shinobi Forces in preparation for the Fourth Shinobi World War, before being mobilized with , Toroi, Haku and Zabuza Momochi.
She was ambushed by the Surprise Attack Division and took damage from the explosive tags carried by ’s ink birds, but swiftly recovered from the attack. She was hesitant to attack people who appeared to her to be “children”, but she was obliged to storm the recently grounded opponents anyhow and was fortunately intercepted by a member of the Third Division. Pakura launched an assault with her Scorch Release: Extremely Steaming Murder Technique when Kabuto erased her consciousness, mummifying countless in her wake. She and Gari were then used as intermediaries to call the previous generations of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist in order to overwhelm the enemy. As a result, they both flee to a safe distance to await further orders, while the swordsmen commence their covert massacre.
She reappeared on the battlefield as dawn broke on the second day of the war. She tracked down the Monga-led unit and mummified the shinobi. She was surprised upon seeing Maki, her adult student, and said that she wished to “vent her frustration” on her manipulators and betrayers. Pakura confessed her hidden mission to Maki as well as the fact that she was killed by the Kirigakure ninja in a treacherous act to which Sunagakure had agreed. Despite the fact that a Kirigakure kunoichi by Maki’s side claimed that her village had turned over a new lead and changed for the better since acquiring a new Mizukage, Pakura declared that it did not erase the community’s past misdeeds.

She subsequently discovered the shinobi, and Maki sought to persuade her teacher that they could change the future but her plea was ignored. Omoi and Zaji arrive to prevent Pakura from killing the squad and they battle her off until Gari interferes. She changed her mind after seeing Maki’s progress and kept Gari in place with her flame orbs, allowing her student squad to depart. Pakura’s consciousness faded away as Kabuto eradicated her and Gari’s personalities for the second time. Pakura was later sealed by the Third Division. When the was undone, she released into the light and her body returned to the afterlife. Upon ascending, she told her student to not die in vain.
Pakura appears to have a moral code, as shown by her surprise at fighting what she considered “children”. She was resentful towards Kiri and Suna for their treachery that led to her death. However, after witnessing Maki and the determination of Maki’s friends, Pakura chooses to “give the children a chance to influence the future” before her personality is wiped out again. She believed that loyalty to friends, family and village made a shinobi strong when she was alive.
Pakura was fairly tall with a pale complexion and brown eyes with pupils. She wore her hair in a bun on top of her head with a hair needle going through it, and had one short and a long strand of hair with orange tips framing either side of her face.
She wears a sleeveless, backless blouse and short purple arm warmers that reach her shoulders, and bandages around her tights and ankles. The only difference in Pakura’s appearance were gray eye sclerae, as with other reanimated shinobi.
Pakura was a well-known kunoichi whose abilities won her much acclaim during her lifetime. She was shown as a highly smart combatant, capable of seeing through most deceptions and reacting rapidly.
