Nan is the Leader of the Land of sound, which is a small village destroyed by and his followers. He is the fictional character in the Naruto anime series, created by Masashi Kishimoto, who is the creator of Naruto world.
He is the village leader of the small village, Land of Sound, which used to be a well-settled village before Orochimaru and his crew destroyed it, and after that, other thieves and bandits used to invade the village because of the gold mine near it.

Lady Tsunade allows Naruto to go on a mission to find out about 's Memory in the Land of Rice with Neji and Tenten. Nan and a few other villagers mistake Naruto, Tenten, Neji, and Menma for members of a band of bandits that have been terrorizing their town when they first arrive in their hamlet.
