PRESENTED BY TUCSON, Ariz. -- After dropping the second game of the series last night, No. 1 Oregon rebounded to take the rubber match at Arizona in impressive fashion 14-3 in five innings on Saturday afternoon at Hillenbrand Stadium. The Ducks will find out their postseason fate during the NCAA tournament selection show on Sunday. As the No. 1 overall team in both the NFCA and USA Softball polls, Oregon is in line to host a regional at Howe Field. The Ducks (49-71-1, 20-3-1), who clinched the Pac-12 championship on Thursday, claimed the series with the game three win on Saturday and finished the regular season with 14 runs on 16 hits with no errors on Saturday while the Wildcats (41-13, 14-10) posted three runs on four hits and one error. Oregon did not lose a single Pac-12 series all year, with a 1-1-1 tie in a three-game set against then No. 3 Arizona State last weekend the only series the Ducks did not win. The Ducks swept Utah, then No. 5 Washington, Oregon State, Cal and Stanford while taking 2-of-3 games from then No. 1 UCLA and No. 9 Arizona. After clinching the Pac-12 title on Thursday, the Ducks came out sloppy on Friday night, making four errors in the first inning and a season-high five errors overall. Oregon did not make a single error on Saturday as Cheridan Hawkins (30-4) won her 30th game of the year after allowing three runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.
