However, it is only their debut at the Olympics, and we've got 8 more races to look forward to. India's result from Race 4 Vishnu and Ganapathy finish Race 4 in 19th position.
The Indian pair took 3 minutes and 25 seconds more than the race leader, and they've got an uphill task in front of them as they look to finish within the Top 10 at the end of 12 races. At Mark 2, the youngsters manage to cling on to 18th, and they've fallen off by 2 minutes and 10 seconds behind the Great Britain pair. Ganapathy and Varun don't make the greatest of beginnings to Race 4, they are in 18th place at Mark 1, a minute and 22 seconds behind race leaders Great Britain. The Indian pair benefitting from Canada's William Jones/Evan Depaul being disqualified, while South Africa's Benjamin Daniel and Alex Burger finished in last place. The young pair has now climbed up one position to place 18th at Mark 3, about 1 minute and 33 seconds behind the leader. A rather poor start at Mark 1, the Indian pair have fallen down to plumb last in 19th place. However, with 10 more races to go before the medal race, Ganapathy and Varun have a chance of entering the Top 10 with some strong performances in the races to come. The Indian pair's results at the end of Race 2 Ganapathy and Varun fall down the pecking order yet again to 18th, with South Africa and Ireland making some major gains. A slight improvement for the young pair at Mark 2, placed in 16th as they trail the race leaders by 1 minute and 11 seconds. At Mark 1, the Indian pair were in 18th position, 55 seconds behind leaders Spain.
