PRESENTED BY GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida won a thrilling doubles point and used that to snap No. 5 Vanderbilt’s seven-match win streak while extending its record home win streak to 130 matches with a 4-0 victory at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex on Friday. Florida’s Alexandra Cercone and Brianna Morgan won their doubles match 8-2 on court No. 3 and the other two matches went to a tiebreak. Vanderbilt took the win on court No. 2, leaving the showcase court to determine the crucial doubles point. Senior Olivia Janowicz was paired with freshman Kourtney Keegan on court No. 1, where Vanderbilt earned a break in the 11th game of the eight-game pro-set and the remainder of the frame was on serve and entered a tiebreak. The Commodores jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the breaker, before the Gators won four consecutive points to take a 5-3 lead. Vandy evened it up at 5-all, but UF claimed a mini-break and Keegan used her powerful serve to help win the breaker 7-5 and the doubles point. Vanderbilt came out refocused for singles play and took early leads on all six courts, but the Gators settled and claimed four first sets, as Belinda Woolcock, Cercone and Morgan earned straight-set victories to secure the dual match win.
