NO. FACTOID UC Irvine and Cal State Bakersfield game was delayed an hour as an accident on the 5 North prevented the scheduled umpires to reach Hardt Field on Tuesday. Bakersfield tracked down a local umpire who was available and game began at 7 p.m. with a one-man crew until the sixth inning. With the Silver Glove Series up for grabs Tuesday evening at Cougar Field, Houston came out swinging in the first inning, plating six runs, played errorless baseball, and rode the arm of reliever Tyler Ford to earn an impressive 6-2 win against Rice, bringing the Silver Glove home to Houston for the first time since 2000. Jack Fischer scattered just five hits in 8.1 innings Friday night as Wake Forest edged Notre Dame 1-0 in ACC action. It was the second-consecutive one-run game for Wake Forest after defeating Elon on Wednesday and is the 15th one-run game this season. The Deacs are 11-4 in those games. Senior Dale Carey put Miami (Fla.) on the board with his fifth home run of the season on Saturday against NC State. The home run was Miami's 15th as a team this spring, which already surpasses the Hurricanes' 2013 team total of 14. Kansas combined for 16 hits on Wednesday at Creighton, tying the TD Ameritrade Park record for most hits in a game by any team in its history, including the College World Series. The Jayhawks won 11-0. Kansas State's Ross Kivett led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, and hit a triple in the second, a double in the third, and a single in the sixth, his fifth at-bat of the night, to complete the first K-State cycle in nearly 17 years Wednesday. Kivett is the first K-State player to hit for the cycle since Heath Schesser on April 30, 1997 and third since 1992. Craig Wilson (Feb. 29, 1992) was the first Wildcat to hit for the cycle. Junior Nick Burdi became Louisville's all-time saves leader on Wednesday earning the 20th of his career to close the win at Western Kentucky. After entering the game with two outs in the eighth inning, Burdi needed just 16 pitches to retire all four batters he faced, including two by strikeout, to earn his fourth save of the season and the 20th all-time in a Louisville uniform surpassing Neil Holland (19 saves, 2008-10) as the Cardinals' career leader. Bradley beat Iowa 7-0 on Wednesday. In keeping with a season-long trend, Bradley broke the game open by scoring all seven runs after the fifth inning. Off to their best 20-game start since 2005 (also 15-5), the Braves now have outscored their opponents 84-27 after the fifth inning this season. For the first time since 1994, Duke was able to sweep rival North Carolina in a three-game series as the Blue Devils defeated the Tar Heels 6-4 in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Jack Coombs Field. Dallas Baptist beat Bradley 17-6 in its first Missouri Valley Conference game. The win runs Dallas Baptist's record to 18-7, making it the best start through the first 25 games since the Patriots joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 2004. The club's record is also the best overall start in program history since the club started 19-6 in 2001. Arkansas put together a string of 25.2 consecutive scoreless innings that was broken up in the second inning in game two of the doubleheader against Mississippi Valley State on Tuesdsay. Senior Pete Leonello took over another top spot in the LIU Brooklyn record book Thursday evening at NYIT as he had two hits in LIU's 12-10 win against the Bears. With those two singles, Leonello tied and broke the program record for hits in a career. Leonello has 227 career hits, breaking the previous record of 226, set by Tyler Jones from 2009-12. Seven strong from starting pitcher Joey DeNato plus 15 hits from the IU lineup proved to be a winning equation for the Hoosiers in a 6-4 series-opening victory at Ohio State. DeNato's first strikeout of the night made him Indiana's all-time strikeout king with 245 career punch-outs. He added on three more Ks and now sits with 248. Jacksonville State head coach Jim Case picked up his 400th career win on Friday as the Gamecocks claimed an 8-2 Ohio Valley Conference win at Eastern Illinois on Friday afternoon. Freshman Anthony Pacillo pitched 7.2 innings as Seton Hall defeated Saint Peter's 11-3 on Thursday for its 2,000th victory in program history.
