The match was played indoors due to inclement weather in the Athens area. “I thought we did a great job today,” Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace said. “I think our players came out with a lot of energy. We got the big doubles point and I think we played very high-level singles on every court. It was nice to get a 4-0 win with our players playing great tennis too.” Georgia took an early 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point. The No. 25 duo of Kate Fuller and Silvia Garcia were first off the court with an 8-5 win versus Ines Deheza and Saska Gavrilovska. The Bulldogs clinched their 16th doubles point of the season when the No. 2 pairing of Lauren Herring and Maho Kowase defeated No. 39 Stefania Hristov and Cristina Stancu 8-5. Herring and Kowase improve to 9-2 against ranked opponents. In singles, Kimbell was first off the court, picking up her 24th win of the campaign with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Hristov. No. 19 Garcia gave Georgia a 3-0 lead with a 6-4, 6-1 win versus Deheza. A short time later, No. 21 Kowase picked up her second match clincher of the year, beating No. 62 Gavrilovska 7-6(5), 6-4. With the win, she improves to a team-best 29-5 this year.
