NWA Wrestling
The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) is a professional wrestling organization that was founded in 1948. At one time, it was considered the largest governing body in professional wrestling. The organization acted as a governing body for the NWA Territorial system , which recognized one world champion, protected the integrity of its members as it was involved in talent exchanges and other pertaining issues. With the rise of the World Wrestling Federation or WWE as it is known today in the 1980s, the downfall of NWA Wrestling had begun. The largest NWA member, World Championship Wrestling, which had evolved from Jim Crockett Promotions broke away in 1993 and was eventually sold to Ted Turner. NWA Wrestling became a relic of the past as it slowly declined through the decades as WWE took over the wrestling landscape. On May 1st, 2017, Billy Corgon acquired the trademark and all assets related to NWA Wrestling. The NWA Wrestling Deal was made final on Oct 1st, 2017. With the deal, Billy Corgon was able to acquire the rights to all the NWA Wrestling Titles. Since then, the NWA Wrestling strategy has been to join forces with other wrestling promotions such as Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor and ALL IN. They have been part of the recent surge of wrestling promotions other than WWE making an impact on the professional wrestling industry.Current NWA Wrestling Champions
