Women s T20 World Cup 2020

Women s T20 World Cup 2020 will be played from 21 February 2020 in Australia. The final will be played on 8 March 2020, on the International Women's Day. This will be the seventh edition of the Women's Cricket World Cup in the shortest format of the game. The host nation is also the defending champion of the Cup.

Qualification

ICC Women's World Cup 2020 will feature ten teams. The teams who finished in the top eight in 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 qualified automatically for the tournament. These teams are Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka. The other two teams, and Thailand Women's Team qualified via the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier.

Venues

Women's World Cup 2020 will be played in seven stadiums across five cities. The opening match will be played at Sydney Showground Stadium and the final will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The seven venues are: Manuka Oval, CanberraJunction Oval, MelbourneMelbourne Cricket Ground, MelbourneWACA Ground, PerthSydney Showground Stadium, SydneySydney Cricket Ground, Sydney

Format

The ten teams have been divided into two groups of five. Each team will play since against all the other teams in their respective groups. The top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-finals. Ticketing and Broadcast

The tickets for the tournament went sale almost one year before its commencement, on 21 February 2019. The ICC has priced the tickets at $20 and $5 for adults and children respectively. Star Sports holds the global broadcast rights for the tournament. Latest Videos
