EURO 2022 Live Score Spain vs Poland Live Score

1 - 1 FT Right, so we're at the end of what was a disappointing result for Spain and a fairly disappointing end to a pretty great day of football! I'd like to thank all my readers (particularly the Spain fans who sat through this stalemate) for sticking with the live blog - we assure you, there is much, much more to come at Euro 2020! Until next time, this is signing off. Cheers, and have a good weekend! Questions will be raised about Luis Enrique's tactical ability in the aftermath of these poor results. With names like Thiago Alcantara on the bench for a second consecutive game, there will be hell to pay if Spain don't qualify for the knock-outs. Spain now find themselves in a particularly precarious position, and need nothing less than a comprehensive victory in their final game. Poland find themselves in the same boat but unlike their opponents, they will be fairly happy with today's result. keep their knockout hopes alive while have yet to win a game at - B/R Football (@brfootball) Alvaro Morata looked to step into the big shoes of his predecessors in the first half and put Spain ahead with a well-taken goal. The Spanish striker endured another poor second half, however, and Gerard Moreno's penalty miss only made matters worse.

Robert Lewandowski, on the other hand, has finally got his goal at Euro 2020 and made Spain pay for their indifference with an excellent goal after the break. Poland might have a fair share of problems in the competition, but their talisman has now given them a fighting chance. Spain were toothless in the second half, and have paid the price for a decidedly poor performance. La Furia Roja certainly lacked their fury today, and seem a shadow of their former selves.

The Spaniards passed and passed and passed, to virtually no effect. Their midfielders were uncharacteristically inaccurate, and apart from a moment in the first half, no one seemed to want the responsibility. Gone are the days of one-touch football, and gone are the days of David Villa and Fernando Torres. Spain need new ideas, and a new talisman. Two points in two games.

Underwhelming start for Spain - ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) Spanish football twitter is not happy.- Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) Huge result in Seville as Spain and Poland play out a 1-1 draw. This result will come as a massive blow to Spain, who now finds themselves stranded in third place in their group. Poland, on the other hand, are languishing at the bottom, but could still qualify by beating Sweden on the final day. FULL-TIME
Spain 1-1 (Alvaro Morata 25'; Robert Lewandowski 54') 90 + 5' Spain with some last-ditch efforts here with crosses whipped into the area. Poland keep clearing their lines, however, and Rodri's yellow card effectively ends the threat. 90 + 3' Yellow card for Robert Lewandowski. Harsh foul from the striker as he catches Aymeric Laporte. Five minutes of stoppage-time! 90' Poland push forward with a counter-attack with Lewandowski burst through the middle. Spain track back to defuse the situation, but will need to get their tempo back up here. 87' Morata's mixed outing has come to an end today as he's replaced by Mikel Oyarzabal. 85' Substitutions for Poland as Jan Bednarek goes off for Pawel Dawidowicz. Jakob Moder also makes way for Karol Linetty. 84' HOW HAS THAT NOT GONE IN?! Sarabia chests it down for Morata in the penalty area, and Szczesny rushes towards the striker to pull off a brilliant save. Spain getting closer! 81' Yellow Card for Pau Torres.
The Villarreal man goes into the referee's book for a high elbow. Poland welcome the stoppage with open arms. 80' Rodri! The Spaniard attempts a volley and connects well, but it flies straight into Szczesny's hands. Spain trying to amp it up here.

79' Chaos in the area again as a misunderstanding sees Poland make a mess of a straightforward passage of play. Ferran Torres tries to pounce on the confusion, but Szczesny holds on to the ball. 77' Poland mount a threatening counter with Lewandowski and Frankowski, but the move ultimately results in a goal kick. For all their possession, Spain are still level with Poland here and could be caught out on the counter. 73' Chance for Ferran Torres! The Manchester City forward is in acres of space in the penalty area and is picked out brilliantly by Llorente. Gets his header wide, but that's a worrying sign for Poland. 72' Szczesny is on hand to punch the ball clear this time. The ball goes straight back to Spain's defence, and Poland are on the back foot yet again. Free-kick for Spain in a dangerous area. Luis Enrique's men need their lead restored. 69' Spain have a half-chance with their corner, with Szczesny missing the ball completely. Poland clear their lines, however, and now Jan Bednarek is down after suffering a knock amidst all the chaos. 68' Poland make a substitution of their own, as Swiderski makes way for Przeymslaw Frankowski. 68' Double change for Spain, as Fabian Ruiz and Pablo Sarabia come on for Gerard Moreno and Koke. 65' MORATA!! The Spain striker gets on the end of Moreno's ball and takes a shot from a tight angle, Szczesny gets his fingertips on the ball to make a fine save. 62' Spain make their first change, as Ferran Torres comes on for Dani Olmo. Moreno's miss was the fifth failed penalty in nine attempts at Euro 2020. Spain cannot afford to rue that miss. 59' Yellow Card for Kamil Jozwiak.
Pedri has been at the receiving end of some dangerous tackles today. Poland are trying to bully the 18-year-old into submission, but the midfielder has admirably stood his ground. 58' MORENO HITS THE POST! Morata has an empty goal to aim at on the follow-up but skies his effort. That could come back to bite Spain. 57' PENALTY FOR SPAIN! Gerard Moreno was fouled in the box, and Spain have a near-immediate chance to restore their lead. Looks like Moreno himself has stepped up.. Another VAR check as Gerard Moreno claims a foul in the penalty area. The referee is having a look! 55' Mateusz Klich replaced by Kacper Kozlowski. First change for Poland. Brief VAR check for Lewandowski's goal, but the striker was well within his rights there with the header. The goal stands! 54' LEWANDOWSKI! Finally, Poland get their goal! Talk about atonement! Excellent cross in to the penalty area, and the Bayern Munich striker gives Spain's defence absolutely no chance with his jump. The scores are level! 53' Spain step it up in the final third with Pedri and Dani Olmo, but ultimately fail with their final product. Poland have not been as tenacious after half-time. 49' Spain are fairly comfortable on the ball here, and Poland don't mind the possession as long as it isn't in their half. Something will eventually give, however - the Poles need their equaliser. 46' Here's the second half!
Spain attack from right to left. Right, so we're only a minute or so away from the second half. Poland have their work cut out for them, their Euros will effectively come to an end with a defeat here. Spain, on the other hand, need a victory to top their group. Mouthwatering! The plaudits deservedly go to Spain here, they have largely dominated this game so far, with that shot from Swiderski being the only exception. Poland are perfectly capable of a comeback, though, and there's plenty of action left in the game.

Back in a few minutes with the second half! To their credit, Poland have already played their hearts out in the first half and are unfortunate to be a goal behind. Swiderski has presented a definitive threat in the final third, and Lewandowski's miss must mean it is now snowing in the Sahara. Luis Enrique on Friday:
“Tomorrow we play with Morata and 10 others.”

Today:
Morata scores first goal at - B/R Football (@brfootball) Morata clearly very grateful to Luis Enrique for keeping the faith in him - TalkFCB (@talkfcb_) Spain lead at the half-time whistle after an intriguing half of football in Seville. Luis Enrique's charges might not have been as dominant as they were against Sweden, but they certainly have been more direct and have reaped the benefits as a result.

Alvaro Morata has the only goal of the game so far and had a slice of luck finally going his way. The Spain striker survived an offside call and has now scored his side's first goal at Euro 2020. HALF-TIME:
Spain 1-0 Poland (Alvaro Morata 25') One minute of additional time.. 45' Moreno!! Pedri finds Alba with a sumptous ball on the left, and Gerard Moreno gets himself at the end of the cross. His flicked finish is into the side netting, though. Nearly the second goal there for Spain. Lewandowski usually puts those chances away with his eyes closed. There's a certain shock factor to this match! 43' POLAND HIT THE POST! Swiderski smacks it past Simon and it rattles the post! Lewandowski pounces on the loose ball, but shockingly fails to convert as Simon makes himself big. Huge chance for the Poles! 40' Spain are now dominating possession and driving forward at every opportunity. Unless Poland hit back with an equaliser, this is going to be a long night for the away side. 36' Yellow Card for Mateusz Klich.
That Leeds United intensity has served Poland well on occasion here, but Klich clearly in the wrong here after a foul on Pedri. 35' Swiderski! Lewandowski finds space in the area and crosses to his strike partner, Swiderski attempts a volley but Unai Simon did just enough to put him off. Goal kick for Spain. 34' MORENO!!!! Excellent free-kick that has both Szczesny and the wall beaten, but it's on the wrong side of the far post. Fine margins! 33' Free-kick for Spain in a dangerous area. A nice layover from Koke sees Olmo in space, Poland step in with a harsh challenge. Szczesny might have some work to do here.. 31' Spain have hit their stride here, and they really do enjoy themselves when they're in the lead. Poland have a few big names in their side, however, and can be a threat on the counter. Plenty of time left in the game for a few more goals. 28' Gerard Moreno is in the mood here! Sends Bednarek for a spin to find space on the right, but Poland's three-man defence means they always have back-up in their own half. Berezynski's left foot the primary culprit there, narrowly playing Morata onside. Alvaro Morata has his vindication! Stepped up to the media yesterday, now proving his mettle on the pitch. 25' GOOOOAAAAALLL!!!! Morata silences his critics with a clinical finish after some brilliant work from Gerard Moreno! Initially ruled out for offside, but a brief VAR check gives Spain the lead. 1-0! Spain have asked a few questions today, and they've been more direct than they were against Sweden. The score is still 0-0 though, and they need to break the deadlock as quickly as possible. 20' Moreno now with a deep cross towards the far post! Poland get in the way to deny Jordi Alba a header and Spain win a corner. It's a poor delivery, though, and Szczesny has no problems. 19' It's Lewandowski and Alba in a foot race here! The corner doesn't amount to much, and Lewandowski emerges with the ball at his feet. Jordi Alba is the furthest back for Spain and has the legs to keep up with the Bayern man. Spain have the ball again. 18' Morata now with the ball in the penalty area! Attempts to find Koke with his chip and wins a corner in the process. 16' Dani Olmo finds the ball on the left again and opts for a deep cross this time. Gerard Moreno gets to the end of it and manages to win a corner that is cleared by the Poles. Spain start again. 13' Pau Torres now takes a shot at the lottery, and Szczesny sees the ball fly harmlessly past his post. Spain are more trigger-happy today, but it is yet to result in a concrete chance. 11' Pedri is brought down in midfield and Spain win the free-kick. Poland have been tenacious in the opening stages and are actively denying Spain their trademark fluidity. 10' Dani Olmo takes his chances from the left, but the angle is far too acute. Powerful shot, but Szczesny easily collects. 9' Spain mount their first meaningful attack of the game as Marcos Llorente charges down the right. The cross is cut out by Mateusz Klich, this is positive intent from the Spaniards. 6' KLICH! Poland may not have much of the ball, but it doesn't look like they need the possession. Mateusz Klich finds the ball in space and unleashes a shot that momentarily worries Unai Simon. Not too far away there, impressive attempt from the Leeds midfielder! 4' Spain are getting into their rhythm here in the opening exchanges and are visibly dominant in possession. Poland are winning the ball back on occasion but have not been able to keep it for more than a minute. 2' Poland look to work their way through a crowded right flank, and call for a penalty after a foray into the penalty area. The referee was in the perfect position, however, and is not interested. KICK-OFF!
Spain from left to right. A temperate day in sunny Spain, and a comfortable day for both teams, weather-wise at least. Spain hold all the cards going into this game, but Poland are perfectly capable of a shock result. Right, so here we are, Spain vs Poland in Seville. The teams line up on the pitch. Time for the national anthems! If this game is even half as entertaining as that goalfest between Germany and Portugal, we're in for a spectacle! Spain will settle for nothing less than a win, and Poland are playing for their lives today.

A little over 30 minutes remain for kick-off, so we still have some time to bide ahead of this fixture. While the football world is firmly fixated on international tournaments at the moment, the big clubs of the modern game are not going anywhere any time soon. On that note, here is transfer expert with his weekly column for Sportskeeda!
Poland, on the other hand, have made several changes to the side that was stunned by Slovakia. Karol Swiderski starts alongside Lewandowski and Zielinski in the forward line, while Karol Linetty makes way for Tymoteusz Puchacz on the left flank.

The Poles were disappointing in their previous game and start this game as definitive underdogs. With Robert Lewandowski on the pitch, however, predictions mean very little. Pedri starts for Spain against Sweden.

At the age of 18 years, six months, and 20 days, he becomes the youngest player to represent at the European Championship - B/R Football (@brfootball) So, Spain have made only one change for this game, with the prolific Gerard Moreno joining Alvaro Morata and Dani Olmo in attack. The rest of the team remains same with Rodri, Koke, and teenage prodigy Pedri forming a three-man midfield.

La Furia Roja do have a few impact substitutes with Ferran Torres, Adama Traore, and Mikel Oyarzabal all on the bench. Thiago Alcantara also misses out on a spot in the starting XI for the second game in a row.

Spain have a particularly excellent record against Poland, but the two teams have not faced each other in over a decade. Much has changed for Spain in recent years, and the aftermath of the extraordinary success achieved by their golden generation has been a mixed bag.
