We'll have to wait until Sunday to know who our semifinalists from Group 2 are, but we will know at least one semifinalist for sure by tomorrow. It's a double-header as the action moves back to Adelaide with New Zealand taking on Ireland before Australia play Afghanistan. Keenly watching proceedings from their hotel rooms will be Jos Buttler and his England team since they will know what their equation has to be when they play Sri Lanka in a couple of days. Aren't we set up for a thrill tomorrow as well! Do join us for our coverage of the two contests and keep yourselves updated with all the other cricketing news and action from around the globe here on Sportskeeda. If you want more action for the day, hop over and catch our coverage of the second semifinal of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy between Vidarbha and Mumbai. Thank you so much for tuning into this one - taking your leave for the moment is the duo of Shashwat Kumar and Sooryanarayanan Sesha. See you around soon - buh-bye for now! It is a funny game indeed and as one of my colleagues Yash Chaturvedi points out, Pakistan have beaten South Africa, who beat India, who beat Bangladesh, who in turn beat Netherlands who got the better of Zimbabwe. And Zimbabwe, as we all know, beat Pakistan. Oh this group has thrown surprises and thrills aplenty, hasn't it? And we're set for a blockbuster finish to it on Sunday when each of these teams will be in action - South Africa will play the Netherlands and Pakistan will then take on Bangladesh. Both games will take place at the Adelaide Oval, before the action rounds off at the MCG as India take on Zimbabwe. We are yet to see a semifinalist confirmed from either group - dare we say this has been the most competitive and exciting Men's T20 World Cup till date? Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): Very happy with the way the team performed. The way Haris played differently shifted the momentum to our side. The way Ifti and Shadab played was outstanding. (Best balance now?) I think everyone is my best player. When we decide which XI is the best, everyone is ready and everyone is a match-winner for me. The first two matches, we lost close. But the way the team has been playing in the last two matches we've given our 100 percent. We just want to take it match by match. Cricket is a funny game, things change quickly. Temba Bavuma (South Africa Captain): (Should they have closed it out with the ball earlier?) Definitely. It's quite disappointing the way we ended our bowling and fielding session. Getting them five down quite quickly and then allowing them to get to that score, a lot of questions we need to ask ourselves. But credit to them. We bowled well in the first 10 overs and when they came out with the ball they bowled well. We knew that the weather was going to be a bit of an issue. The bowlers practice with a wet ball whenever they can. No excuses from our side. These are things that we have to speak about. Next game against the Netherlands up in Adelaide - obviously a big game for us. We obviously want to put this game past us as quickly as possible, take whatever learnings we can and come up against Netherlands in the best phase possible mentally. Shadab Khan, Player of the Match: (Is this the best you have ever batted) In a World Cup game, so definitely this one is the best. Pitch was very nice, little bit on the slow side compared to Perth. Ball was coming on nicely to the bat and tried to utilize. (About the first ball that dismissed Bavuma) First ball I tried to bowl in the stumps and bowled a little bit slower and it gripped, it paid off. (On batting higher) I would like it but depends on the situation and the needs of the team Match summary: Pakistan beat South Africa by 33 runs (DLS).

Shadab Khan 52 (22) Shaheen Shah Afridi 3/14 (3)
Temba Bavuma 36 (19) Anrich Nortje 4/41 (4)

They needed a win to stay in the tournament and they have got one. And one by a pretty handsome margin at that to help their net run rate and so, Babar Azam and Co. live to see another day at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He had another tough outing, as did Mohammad Rizwan, but it was a breathtaking partnership between Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed that powered them along to a mammoth 185.

Quinton de Kock swung like a rusty gate and perished without troubling the scorers. Rilee Rossouw couldn't do much either but skipper Temba Bavuma came out seeing it like a beachball and smacked it all around the park. Haris Rauf, the most lethal weapon in the Pakistan arsenal, came for a real hammering and was plundered for 37 off his first two overs. Aiden Markram was looking in good touch himself and it was game on.

With a slight drizzle, the DLS equation had come into the picture. South Africa were ahead at the end of the 7th over but that's when the man who could do no wrong today - Shadab Khan - returned to flip the game on its head. Two wickets in three deliveries saw Bavuma and Markram back in the hut and that meant that when the heavens opened up after the 9th over, Pakistan were comfortably ahead on DLS.

The revised target saw South Africa requiring 73 off the last 5 overs. Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs initially threatened to pull it off, but a masterclass in death bowling courtesy Naseem Shah and Mohammad Wasim, who used their cutters and yorkers respectively to fabulous effect, ensured that they shut the door firmly on the Proteas. A comprehensive victory for Pakistan - stay tuned as we hear from the captains... Full commitment from Shadab Khan as he looks to fling himself onto the ball and save runs even with the result already known. Of course, net run rate is a factor, but the more important aspect here is that Pakistan have got the points on the board. 14 1 1W 0 W 1 4 13.6 Haris Rauf to Lungi Ngidi, FOUR! BUT PAKISTAN WIN! Full delivery outside off stump. Ngidi backs away and throws his hands at it, carving it over extra cover for four. Pakistan will not mind, though! They stay alive in the tournament! 13.5 Haris Rauf to Tabraiz Shamsi, back of a length delivery outside off stump. Shamsi comes half forward and stabs the ball down the ground for a single False start from Rauf. In he steams again... Tabraiz Shamsi, RHB, is the last man out in the middle We saw it from the Indian fielders in Adelaide last evening and the Pakistan fielders have put on a great show of their own. Never easy fielding after the rain has dampened the outfield but they've been outstanding in their own right. Can the Men in Green bowl South Africa out? 13.4 Haris Rauf to Anrich Nortje, OUT! RAUF GETS HIS FIRST! Back of a length delivery on middle and leg stump that sticks in the surface. Nortje has a slog across the line and toe ends it badly. Haris at deep mid wicket calls very early, settles himself and pouches the catch!
Anrich Nortje c Mohammad Haris b Haris Rauf 1 (5b 0x4 0x6) 13.3 Haris Rauf to Anrich Nortje, short delivery outside off stump that zips through. Nortje swings himself off his feet but sees the ball whistle past the flailing bat Lungi Ngidi, RHB, comes to the crease It's been that kind of day for South Africa. And the only unbeaten team in the tournament heading into today will have a loss against their name officially in a few minutes from now. 13.2 Haris Rauf to Anrich Nortje, OUT! Full delivery angled into the batter on leg stump. Nortje backs away and carves it towards deep cover point. Mid-way through the first, they think it is prudent to go for the second. Rabada, though, is yards short of his ground as the fielder fires an accurate throw at the bowler's end, with Rauf doing the rest.
Kagiso Rabada run out (Mohammad Nawaz/Haris Rauf) 1 (2b 0x4 0x6) 13.1 Haris Rauf to Kagiso Rabada, full delivery outside off stump. Rabada reaches out for it and clinks it into the off side towards extra cover for a single Haris Rauf [2.0-0-37-0] to bowl the final over of the game Wanna suggest something?
