PRESENTED BY ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- No. 5 Virginia improved to 10-4 Friday with a 5-2 victory at No. 13 Michigan. Stephanie Nauta, Julia Elbaba, Rachel Pierson, Danielle Collins and Li Xi posted singles wins for the victorious Cavaliers. Michigan (8-3) claimed the doubles point with victories at Nos. 3 and 2. Ronit Yurovsky and Laura Ucros defeated No. 41 Nauta and Maci Epstein 8-3 on court three and No. 75 Sarah Lee and Amy Zhu defeated Collins and Xi 8-7(2) on court two. The Wolverines made the score 2-0 with Zhu's 6-4, 6-2 win over Epstein on court five before Virginia took control of the match. No. 47 Nauta beat No. 98 Brooke Bolender 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 on court three and Elbaba tied the score at 2-2 with a 6-4, 6-3 win over No. 7 Emina Bektas on court one. No. 55 Pierson gave UVa its first lead with a 6-3, 6-2 win over No. 103 Lee before No. 67 Collins clinched the win with a 6-1, 6-3 decision over No. 20 Yurovsky on court two. Xi beat Ucros 6-2, 7-5 on court six to make the final score 5-2.
