A team of doctors rushed over to Hughes and attempted CPR. Hughes was then stretchered off the field, and doctors attempted to revive him at the hospital before declaring him dead. Hughes was 28 years old at the time of his death. As per reports, one of Hughes' arteries was fully clogged before he suffered a heart attack.
