PRESENTED BY SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- North Dakota State capped the season as the wire-to-wire top-ranked team in the FCS Coaches' Poll after winning its third consecutive national championship Saturday. The Bison dropped Towson 35-7 in the title game in Frisco, Texas, to end a perfect 15-0 season and score their 24th consecutive win. NDSU was the unanimous No. 1 selection for the 12th time this season. Complete Poll Towson ends the year at No. 2, followed by Eastern Washington and Eastern Illinois, respectively. New Hampshire finished fifth after making a run to the semifinals of the FCS playoffs and Southeastern Louisiana ends the season ranked sixth. Coastal Carolina, Montana, McNeese State and Fordham round out the top 10. Maine and Jacksonville State close the year in the No. 11 and No. 12 slots, respectively, with Sam Houston State, South Dakota State and Northern Arizona making up the rest of the top 15. Bethune-Cookman is No. 16, followed by Tennessee State and Samford. Youngstown State and Montana State are 19th and 20th, respectively. Furman is the only team to enter the poll after being unranked all season, sliding into the No. 21 spot. Charleston Southern and Harvard are No. 22 and No. 23, while Southern Utah and Chattanooga round out the rankings.
