PRESENTED BY ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The defending Big Ten and NCAA champion Michigan has been tabbed as a unanimous No. 1 in the initial GymInfo preseason national poll, which was released Nov. 27. It's the first time that a team has been chosen as a unanimous No. 1 since the service began tabulating first-place votes beginning in the 2002 season. The last time the Wolverines entered the season ranked as the preseason No. 1 was in 2001. Last season, U-M entered as the No. 3 squad in the country prior to capturing its fifth NCAA title in program history. Oklahoma and Stanford hold the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. Big Ten foes Ohio State, Penn State and Illinois hold the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, while Iowa (No. 8), Minnesota (No. 9) and Nebraska (No. 10) are the other ranked Big Ten teams. The Wolverines will host No. 4 Ohio State on Feb. 1, as well as No. 5 Penn State on March 15. The marquee road matchup for the Wolverines will be against No. 3 Stanford in Palo Alto on Jan. 25. The Wolverines will return 24 of 30 routines from a year ago, led by United States all-around and two-time NCAA all-around champion and World Championship finalist Sam Mikulak. Michigan also returns United States National Team member Stacey Ervin as well as 2013 All-Americans Syque Caesar, Dylan James and Adrian de los Angeles.
