Kris Jenkins Out for Season Football Outsiders

September 12, 2005, 4:18 pm ET This is a major blow to a team many expected to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Kris Jenkins tore his ACL in Sunday's opener against the Saints. He'll miss the rest of the season. Jenkins established himself as one of the best players in football in 2003, but he missed 12 games last year with a shoulder injury and now won't be on the field again until 2006.

When they go 7-9 again this year i don't want to hear anyone blaming it on injuries. Also, me thinks kris jenkins will be forced to take a pay cut next year. Before SB XXXVIII, [Sapp] said he would retire if he ever lost to the Patriots. I watched that PTI segment multiple times afterward (to gloat, mostly). Not that I want to defend Sapp, but what he actually said was he would retire if Russ Hochstein could block him. Since Hochstein didn't play, it's still an open question. November 8, 1:26pm ET
