Week 17 Game Discussion Thread Football Outsiders
December 30, 2004, 11:00 am ET This thread is for discussion of action on the field before, during, and after all this week's games. You can talk about who you think will win or lose before the games start as well as who's resting their starters, who's lying about resting their starters, and who might be lying about resting their starters. Then during the games, discuss strange plays, great performances, and whether or not it might be time for a team to rest its starters. (Can you tell there's a running theme this week?) After the day is done, we'll discuss talk the results of the week Sunday night and Monday before our weekly commentary articles appear. Please discuss fantasy football over in . This week brings us the Finals of the . Although this week is a total crapshoot, my competitor and I ended up picking three games the exact same way, and one game opposite: I took Washington +4.5, and he has Minnesota. Yes, I have $500 riding on the legs of Ladell Betts. Ye gods. For those curious, it was my idea to split the prize money $750/$250 instead of $1000 for the winner and nothing for the loser. When you pick games based on statistical trends, it is a good idea to minimize the amount of money you have riding on Week 17, and my wife was happy a half hour ago when I told her I was suddenly $250 richer. Once again, a cartoon re-run this week, as Jason is busy with some family issues. We'll have new cartoons again beginning next week. This one comes from the week after the 2003 season ended.
