EA Corners NFL Video Game Market
EA Corners NFL Video Game Market Football Outsiders
EA really needs to be very careful becuase it's very small market. What if someone came up with a great Arena Football Game! It's the game, not the rights that sell the product. Bernie: While its certainly true that the gameplay is the most important thing, its worth noting that EA signed a with the AFL this winter, so you won't be seeing competition there. madden was afraid that the 2k series snatched up all thier sales the last couple of years!!!! also everyone knows which game was better come on people!!!! madden is a cartoonish, robotic, arcade, game with nfl players added!!!! all the guys are buff as hell and the players don't even look like the nfl players!!!! they run sloppy and the tackles are not realistic.... ESPN IS WHERE IT'Z AT AND I WILL PLAY IT FOR 5 YEARS NO PROBLEM.. AND TO ALL THOSE MADDEN FANS....THE ONLY REASON MADDEN IS MADDEN IS BCUZZ OF THE NAME!!!!IF THE 2K SERIES CAME OUT THE SAME TIME AS MADDEN, IT WOULDN'T BE A MADDEN!!!!!! November 8, 1:26pm ET
December 13, 2004, 9:42 pm ET Proving that there's no end to the revenue streams it can develop, the NFL has sold its exclusive video game license to EA Sports, maker of the market-leading Madden series, for an undisclosed sum. That means while ESPN and others can continue to make football games, they can't use NFL players, stadiums, uniforms or logos in the game. I'm not a video game player, so I'm interested to hear what gamers have to say about this development.

I love that the faux-Atlanta team is apparently QB-d by Ron Mexico. Everything changes in time. Monday night football is a good example of the NFL losing track of reality. While the ratings are up the NFL's greed rises. The product better get real good and keep improving every year or they will be out of business real quick. The rights are costing a bundle and it is a big risk. If they can't keep up the pace they can't just bailout. It's called chapter 11 if they have trouble.EA really needs to be very careful becuase it's very small market. What if someone came up with a great Arena Football Game!
