Jennifer Aniston' s Style as She Nears 50

Borrow her easy breezy California look

Steve Granitz/WireImage/Getty Images It’s hard to believe TV and film star Jennifer Aniston is on the cusp of turning 50 (Feb. 11). Though her breakout role as Rachel on Friends initially won us over (renewed on Netflix till 2020 so binge away!) and launched a thousand "Rachel" copycat haircuts, Aniston's cool California vibe and grownup personal style is what really intrigues us now. Don't be fooled — her easy, breezy look is very well thought out. Here’s how to borrow her 11 look-great tricks. of A straight center part plays up a sleek blowout; a scrambled side part lets silvery strands mingle with the blond ones for a natural look with no root line; a few twists of the curling iron add bend to the ends for extra glamour.

1 Find your perfect hairstyle and stick with it

Aniston keeps her trademark golden locks long and streaky with multitone highlights. She almost always wears it down in the same casual way day or night, but varies the part from center to side. She lets a few longer pieces around the face, and textured ends keep the overall effect modern. of It works for day — and night, too, where a touch of shimmer bumps things up; even closeup — with false lashes — there are no hard edges (top right); keep the sunny look day and night with a little bronzer (bottom right).

2 Stay in neutral range for natural-looking makeup

Aniston prefers a sunny glow and eye definition, and gets it with pinky beige lips, fresh rosy cheeks and some brow/lash emphasis. Her makeup is never overdone (and red lipstick is not welcome!). of A pale shade of polish on her fingers and on her toes is Aniston's go-to and creates a clean, groomed effect — making those strappy bare evening sandals she prefers worry-free.

3   Choose light-toned nail polish

Aniston matches manicure and pedicure for a seamless look and quick retouching; chips will barely show. of Dangly earrings and diamond huggies add up to shimmer; Aniston delicately inked Norman's name on the inside of her right foot.

4 Go subtle and refined if you pierce or tattoo

Aniston is the girl next door with a multipierced left ear and a tattoo to honor her beloved pooch Norman. Her choice is personal and feminine, but edgy. of Wearing boyfriend jeans that are cuffed; a black blazer adds some sophistication to jeans, T-shirt and sneakers look; sporting olive jeans.

5 Wear jeans that flatter your body and curves

Aniston really does live in jeans but prefers relaxed boyfriend styles (often cuffed) — not skinnies! The denim of choice shifts from blues to whites, blacks or army greens, but are always teamed with white or black T-shirts and tank tops. of ADVERTISEMENT of A scarf and a long, tailored coat glam up comfy distressed jeans; white jeans and a tank get a boost from tan wedge sandals, flap shoulder bag and aviators; cuffed boyfriend jeans style up with an olive field jacket and hat.

6 Make accessories your signature

Aniston loves to add a scarf, brimmed hat, white sneakers or wedge sandals, a shoulder bag and sunglasses for a daily uniform that's relaxed but pulled together — whatever the weather. of Rocking a black leather minidress with asymmetric top; sequins and a deep V neck make for a great look; a black tuxedo-dress mini (actually has romper shorts beneath!) is a change of pace.

7 Don t be shy about showing off your legs

Aniston cycles through black minidresses to show off her buff legs and yoga-toned body, more proof that a healthy lifestyle and exercise pay off in the long run. of Wearing a shimmery black gown with plunging neckline and leggy slit; a high-neck, form-skimming column with subtle draping does the trick; a shapely long LBD with an asymmetric neckline is simply stunning.

8 Know a long black dress never fails to dazzle

No big jewels are necessary even for big-deal moments, though Aniston likes a little shimmer, plunging or asymmetric necklines or a leggy slit to amp up the wow factor. of A one-shoulder black jumpsuit with fluid draped leg makes the cut; a relaxed, flowing tank style gets extra zip from red strappy heels.

9 Choose a sophisticated black jumpsuit

Aniston keeps these in rotation with long and short black dresses for an evening shot of elegance — something we all can do, too, for ease and comfort. of Enhancing leather jeans with a long black coat, sweater and shoulder bag; a leather bustier makes a tailored jacket and pants sexy.

10 Realize a little bit of black leather is OK

A black biker jacket and black leather leggings are basic, but Aniston adds black jeans and a black bustier to her leather essentials. A little leather provides an effortless fashion factor.
of A long loose sundress in black with a brimmed hat and aviators; a beachy print slip style gown goes boho; a print sundress and black backpack, black shoulder bag are so easy to throw on.

11   Try the L A beach babe look

Even Aniston occasionally takes a break from all those jeans, mixing things up with casual boho prints, loose sundresses and slip dresses day or night.
