Report Home It has been over 10 years since the last statewide assessment of long-term care services in South Dakota. This 2002 survey is the first step in a new comprehensive statewide assessment of home and community-based services, assisted living centers, nursing homes, and other types of long-term care services and facilities. During late May and early June, 1,169 AARP members in South Dakota were polled by mail about long-term care, and their feelings about the affordability of such care and the importance of improving quality of care in the state. The report was prepared by Mildred DePallo, Ph.D. For more information about the study, contact Anita Stowell-Ritter at 202-434-6205.
