The 2016 AARP Nevada Voter Retirement Security Survey was a telephone survey about retirement security issues among 1,000 registered voters age 35-64 in Nevada who are currently employed or looking for work. Most Nevada registered voters age 35-64 who are in the workforce hope to retire someday (86%), but many do not feel financially prepared for retirement. More than eight in ten (86%) wish they had saved more money for their retirement years. Nearly three in four support a ready-to-go state retirement savings plan that would help Nevada residents save for retirement through a public-private partnership. Voters of all political parties also support such a state plan; Republicans (69%), Democrats (83%), and Independents (67%). Most respondents favor a portable plan that follows people from job to job and that has a low cost for participants. Interviews for the this telephone survey were conducted November 11 through December 4, 2016 among 1,000 registered voters age 35-64 in Nevada who are currently employed or looking for work. The sample was drawn from a registered voter list. For more information contact Terri Guengerich at . Suggested Citation: Guengerich, Terri. 2016 AARP Nevada Voter Retirement Security Survey.
