Registered voters in Maryland support consumer protections for both landline and cellular service. Key findings include:
Marylanders overwhelmingly (81%) say it is important that the legislature work to maintain affordable, reliable, and high-quality traditional telephone service.
Seventy-six percent (76%) of Marylanders say they support a law requiring cell phone providers to give new customers a list of fixed charges, as well as an estimate of their total monthly bill.
Nearly sixty-three percent (63%) of voters overall support government oversights of traditional landline telephone rates and services. The 2017 Maryland Survey of Voters Age 45-Plus Telephone and Cellular Service was a telephone study among 800 residents about issues regarding electric utility rates and suppliers.
