Overview

Every 15 seconds, an older adult age 65+ is treated in the emergency room for a fall. Falls are the leading cause of injury among older Americans. The National Council on Aging produced this fact sheet to raise awareness of the severity of injuries from falls and discuss initiatives intended to reduce the number of falls among seniors.
