HawaiI Retired Teachers Association
The Hawaii State Retired Teachers Association (HSRTA) serves the general interests of retired educators in Hawaii. Membership is open to retired educators, school personnel—and to anyone interested in education. Founded in 1955, HSRTA is composed of four units, one each on the islands of Kauai, Maui, Hawaii Island, and Oahu. The individual units conduct many activities, including advocacy to protect retiree benefits, volunteering with youth, supporting new teachers, funding scholarships for at-risk youth, and many other community-based initiatives. HSRTA is an affiliate of . Membership dues are only $15 per year. Our newsletter, Ka Malamalama, goes out to all our members and is published quarterly.
