AARP Foundation Experience Corps of Greater Boston is hosted by . For 20+ years, Literations has worked to connect older adults with the children who need them most. Today, we remain dedicated to bringing the most impactful literacy program to the children of Greater Boston by engaging the region's fastest-growing human resource: older adults. During the 2021-2022 school year, Literations is offering its literacy program in-person and virtually to local Boston Public Schools and Boys & Girls Clubs, supporting getting children back on pace with their learning by providing much needed one-to-one reading support. Students served: 3,638 Volunteers: 261 Hours of tutoring: 52,188 Classrooms served: 174 74 percent of students who were below grade level at the beginning of the year improved their reading and literacy performance by half a grade level or more 97 percent of volunteer tutors reported that they were satisfied with the academic progress they made with students
