New American Diet Author John Whyte Talks Healthy Eating

It's no secret that is fast becoming one of the largest contributors to America's health problems. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 70 percent of Americans over the age of 45 are overweight and a third are obese. It's no wonder that we're always looking for that new fad diet that will help us shed the pounds away. However, dieting isn't something that we do, it's a lifestyle. Now is the time to start looking at a different type of trend when it comes to dieting. The takes into account 17 years of scientific research to help develop guidelines for a healthier way to eat. Inside E Street host Lark McCarthy is joined by Dr. John Whyte, author of , and Albert Hollenbeck, senior research adviser for AARP. They share some of the key findings from their studies, as well as some do's and don'ts when it comes to healthy eating.
