Selecting the next leaders for our state isn’t something to take lightly. AARP North Dakota wants to help voters stay informed and know where the candidates stand on issues that matter most. Once again, AARP North Dakota and Prairie Public Broadcasting are teaming up to provide comprehensive pre-election coverage of the candidates on the Nov. 2 ballot.

Candidate Debates

In October, Prairie Public will televise candidate debates between U.S. Senate candidates John Hoeven (R) and Tracy Potter (D), and U.S. House candidates Earl Pomeroy (D) and Rick Berg (R).

Prairie Public will also broadcast a debate between Public Service candidates Kevin Cramer (R) and Brad Crabtree (D) on its statewide radio network.

The U.S. Senate debate will first air at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1, with repeat broadcasts prior to Election Day. At 5:30 p.m. Oct. 9, Prairie Public will broadcast a conversation with third-party U.S. Senate candidate Keith Hanson.

Details on the U.S. House debate had yet to be confirmed at the time this newsletter was written. For up-to-date programming schedules, visit or the .

AARP is nonpartisan — it doesn't support or oppose any political candidates or contribute any money to campaigns or political action groups. The Association does, however, want to inform voters on the issues that matter most to them and to let voters know where AARP stands.
