AARP to Hold Statewide Town Hall
The hour-long event will allow thousands of Montanans to join Attorney General Steve Bullock and AARP to share their views about financial reform. In addition to Attorney General Bullock, AARP experts from the national office will also participate in the live event.
AARP will place calls to its members in Montana to invite them to participate in the event at 11 am on Nov. 3. Members interested in participating only need to hold the line to be placed into the live event with Attorney General Bullock. After brief introductions and statements, participants will have the opportunity to ask their questions. This format allows for a wide variety of viewpoints to be represented. AARP has more than 159,000 members in Montana. All AARP households with current phone numbers will be called to participate in the event.
“AARP tele-town hall meetings are a relatively new technology that permits AARP to connect to thousands of people in a limited time frame. Because the meetings are interactive, they allow for a thoughtful, two-way dialogue,” said Bob Bartholomew, AARP Montana State Director. “Tele-town hall meetings are very useful to our members because they enable thousands of people to participate. Also, these tele-town hall meetings do not require members to get into their vehicles and drive many miles to attend the meeting. This is especially useful in a state like Montana where the distances are great.”

Thousands of AARP members will have the opportunity to participate in an informative discussion on how recently enacted Wall Street reforms will affect Montanans. AARP Montana will host a statewide tele-town hall event featuring Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock on Nov. 3 at 11 am.
