Report Home This mail survey examines the opinions of Oregon AARP members about a variety of legislative issues, including long-term care, home and community based services, and prescription drugs. Of those surveyed... 78 percent support increasing funding for home and community-based care, even if it means an increase in taxes

79 percent support increases in “sin” taxes – such as on alcohol and tobacco products – as a way to generate money for home and community-based services

74 percent say ensuring the availability of a broad range of long-term care services throughout the state should be a top or high priority for AARP Oregon

27 percent have been caregivers in the last two years, and 51 percent of them worked full-time or part-time while caregiving

17 percent currently have a long-term care insurance policy This report is based on data from a mail survey of 1,213 Oregon AARP members conducted from January 12th through February 11th, 2005.
