“We are committed to providing AARP members and all Granite Staters with information on the candidates and key issues that matter most to them, like Social Security, Medicare and the economy,” said AARP New Hampshire State Director Kelly Clark. “There’s a lot at stake in this election and our voter education activities are designed to help voters make informed choices on Election Day.”

Volunteers are key to our success. Want to bird-dog candidates, attend events, or interview voters? Review the list of opportunities below and contact AARP New Hampshire Associate State Director for Outreach Sarah Kelsea at if something sparks your interest. “There are many ways to get involved,” added Sarah. “You can devote a little time or a lot of time. Presidential primary activities are very rewarding. And the entire country is watching!”
You’ll see AARP and our volunteers out and about, doing a variety of things:
Candidate Tracking: Volunteers are tracking presidential candidates and attending town hall meetings, rallies and other public sessions to ask key questions about job growth, retirement security, Social Security and Medicare.
Listening Posts: We want to hear your thoughts and questions for the candidates! Throughout the primary season, AARP staff and volunteers will be setting up “listening” posts where we will record Granite Staters sharing their thoughts, opinions and questions for the candidates. These videos will be posted on our to keep the conversation alive.
Debate Watch Party: Join AARP Jan. 7, from 7:30 pm to 11 pm, for a debate watch party. Begin the evening with food and fun, play trivia games, win prizes and then watch the nationally-televised WMUR debate starring the GOP presidential primary candidates. Plans are still under way but Sarah Kelsea [email protected] can give you up-to-date information and tell you how to get involved.

All candidates polling 5% or higher were invited to participate and Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul and Rick Perry chose to share their views on Social Security, Medicare, jobs and the economy, and retirement security.
