Report Home This mail survey explores the attitudes and opinions of 972 AARP members in New Mexico regarding consumer financial privacy, long-term care, affordable housing, transportation, and utilities. Of those surveyed... 95 percent indicate that it is extremely (86%) or very (9%) important that their personal financial information is shared only with their permission. 71 percent strongly (43%) or somewhat (28%) support legislation that permits individuals to place a security freeze on their credit report. 89 percent believe it is extremely (59%) or very (30%) important to have long-term care services that allow them or their family members to stay at home as long as possible. 69 percent say that it would be very (35%) or somewhat (34%) difficult to live in their current neighborhood if they were no longer able to drive. 42 percent say that there is currently a lack of affordable housing in New Mexico. 91 percent say that it is extremely (33%), very (41%) or somewhat (17%) important for AARP New Mexico to work with the state legislature to maintain affordable, reliable and high quality telephone service. This mail survey of 972 AARP members in New Mexico was conducted by AARP from June 9 through July 7, 2006.
