Report Home This survey of AARP members in Oklahoma found high levels of concern about personal financial security and independent living, as well as health issues, such as staying physically fit and eating right, finding good health insurance, and finding quality long-term care. Respondents view health care in general and independent living as the top legislative priority issues for AARP in their state. The survey also found strong support for:
legislative proposals to amend current state age discrimination laws to include businesses with fewer than 15 employees, and to give workers more time to file complaints consumer protection from home repair fraud and predatory lending practices(most feel the latter should be a top AARP legislative priority in Oklahoma) state examination of utility deregulation's impact on consumers which most think should be a top AARP legislative priority in their state AARP's mail survey of 2,000 of its 389,418 Oklahoma members was conducted in May and June 2001.
