The nonprofit Dollar Energy Fund, for example, works with utility providers and community organizations to prevent utilities from being disconnected or to restore service and to provide other resources for households experiencing hardship.

Medicare fraud occurs when someone intentionally falsifies information; for example, a health care provider bills for services not rendered, or someone uses another person's Medicare card to get medical care, equipment or supplies.

by Donya Currie - 12/01/2011 AARP West Virginia is recruiting volunteers for the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program to help low- to moderate-income state residents, especially those age 60 and older, prepare their returns and receive tax credits and deductions. Donya Currie - 10/01/2011 Scammers may be out in full force this month as Medicare open enrollment gets under way, but the West Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol aims to keep fraud at bay. AARP is concerned about low voter turnout. Only 16 percent of voters cast ballots in the May 14 gubernatorial primary.Acting Gov.
