Let Your Voice Be Heard

For far too long, the debate about the long-term solvency of and has taken place behind closed doors in Washington. That’s about to change!

“You’ve spoken and we’re listening,” said AARP New Hampshire State Director Kelly Clark. “You told us you’re tired of politicians trading away the benefits you’ve earned and that you want a voice regarding the future of these programs that are vital to your health and financial security.”

That’s why AARP New Hampshire is kicking off so we can ensure New Hampshire residents have a say and are part of the discussion on securing these programs for current and future generations.

“There’s a lot at stake,” added Clark. “Social Security and Medicare are vital to New Hampshire residents. One in five age 65+ rely on Social Security, over one-third would fall below the poverty level if not for its benefits, and Social Security pumps over $3.25 billion dollars every year into New Hampshire’s economy. Nearly all New Hampshire seniors rely on Medicare and it’s not cheap. Beneficiaries spend $5,300 of their own money which is nearly a quarter of their income.”

What’s being planned for New Hampshire? AARP staff and volunteers will be traveling the state, hosting community conversations, house parties, informational forums and other events. Look for us in:
Concord, May 9-11
North Country (Littleton, Lancaster, Berlin, Gorham), June 5-8
Portsmouth, September (dates to be determined)
Keene, October (dates to be determined)
We urge you to join this important conversation so you can make your voice heard on the future of Medicare and Social Security. You can start by online. Be sure to provide your contact information if you want us to keep you up to date.
