The actor made an impromptu stop on his way to a restaurant
George Pimentel/Getty Images Golden Globe-winning actor Denzel Washington stopped by Juanita Hubbard's home in Chicago after hearing she was one of his biggest fans. A day out on the town for , 62, included an unexpected stop. It involved an 86-year-old grandma who was waiting for a refrigerator to be delivered — but who received a very different kind of visit. AARP Membership: Washington was trying to find a barbecue restaurant on Chicago’s South Side last weekend when he ran into a group of fans. While chatting, they told him about his biggest superfan, Juanita Hubbard, who lives right across the street. The actor, being the nice guy he is, said he had to meet the woman — known in the neighborhood as Mama Hubbard. A video of the that was posted on social media showed the surprise introduction and the nearly 10-minute conversation. Some of Hubbard’s two children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren were also there. “I’m not gonna let you go,” she told the actor. Hubbard revealed to the Chicago Sun-Times that she was reading an old horoscope when he pulled up and surprised her. Washington told her he was very familiar with the neighborhood because he had family who lived in the area. He said he remembered playing outside and going to the same restaurant that he was trying to locate earlier when he got sidetracked — and made Hubbard’s day!Also of Interest
