50 Edie Falco July 5

Falco won three Emmys as Carmela Soprano — Tony's wife in the smash HBO series The Sopranos. She now has a well-earned fourth, for her role as a drug-addict ER nurse (jonesing for "a little Oxy") on Showtime's Nurse Jackie. The dark comedy has been renewed for a sixth season.

50 Phoebe Cates July 16

After appearing in 1982's Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Cates tried out for a part in The Big Chill. She didn't get it, but met her husband Kevin Kline, now 65 (left), at the audition. She runs an upscale Manhattan boutique. (The store's website has a of her helping Kline shop.)

50 Karl Malone July 24

The Hall of Famer played with the Utah Jazz for 18 seasons ('85-'03), and was known as "The Mailman" on the court — because he always delivered. Malone, who grew up hunting, is an NRA board member and owns a Toyota dealership near Salt Lake City (motto: "The mailman delivers").

50 Lisa Kudrow July 30

She's got the ditsy-chick shtick down — playing the oddball waitress on Mad About You and the spacey friend on Friends. Now on Web Therapy, an all-improv series on Showtime, Kudrow is a hilariously unsympathetic (and maybe a tad ditsy) therapist. The third season starts July 23.

60 Ken Burns July 29

He perfected the now-famous "Ken Burns effect" (slowly zoom on an image and pan across it) in his sweeping documentaries (Baseball, The Civil War). He's working on a series about the Roosevelts and has plans through 2019 for films on Jackie Robinson, Vietnam and country music.

60 Leon Spinks July 11

"Neon Leon" won an Olympic gold in 1976 and challenged Muhammad Ali for the heavyweight title in 1978. Spinks won a split decision; Ali won the rematch. Spinks, who now suffers from dementia and balance problems, has had jobs in recent years at McDonalds and as a janitor.

60 Howard Schultz July 19

Where would frappuccino addicts be without the Starbucks CEO? As the company caffeinates the world, it's also "standing up for something beyond making a profit," says Schultz. After endorsing same-sex marriage, he told off an irate shareholder, saying, "This was not an economic decision.

70 Mick Jagger July 26

A septuagenerian rock star? Why not? He's staying current: The Stones are now plowing through a sold-out tour, where Jagger asked fans on Twitter to suggest songs for an upcoming show. He told a British paper last month that he runs 8 miles a day and studies Pilates, yoga and ballet to stay fit.

70 Geraldo Rivera July 4

Famous for his trashy 1987-98 talk show (think "Men Who Wear Lace Panties and the Women Who Love Them"), Rivera toyed with running for New Jersey's Senate seat. He decided against it, saying it would expose his family "to the ravages of unlimited SuperPac money and tabloid scrutiny."

70 Christine McVie July 12

The Fleetwood Mac keyboardist wrote and performed lead vocals on hits including "You Make Loving Fun." She's the only one of the Rumours-album-era band members absent from FM's current U.S. tour, though when they play London this fall, she's said, "I might pop back on stage."

70 Jimmie Johnson July 16

He's the famed football coach for the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins, and now a Fox NFL commentator. In 2010 he was the oldest contestant on Survivor: Nicaragua. When he returned he told AARP, "We had to split two cups of rice between 10 people," but, "I wanted the adventure."

70 Bill Bradley July 28

The Hall of Fame basketball player, former New Jersey senator and one-time presidential candidate now works for an investment bank and sits on Starbucks' board. In March he told a reporter, "the role of money in politics has gotten worse" and "large segments of America have gone nowhere."

90 Bob Dole July 26

Sad but true: When you start typing "Bob Dole" for a Google search, the first phrase suggested is "Bob Dole Viagra." The retired Republican senator, presidential candidate (and, yes, Viagra fan), told Fox News in May that today's unproductive GOP should hang a "closed for repairs" sign.
